AKRON – Get ready for an evening of laughter and chaos as Tippecanoe Valley Performing Arts presents “The Play That Goes Wrong.”
The play times are 7 p.m. Thursday and 4 p.m. Saturday at the Tippecanoe Valley Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students.
This production combines physical comedy, clever wordplay and a whirlwind of technical mishaps that make every moment unpredictable. The show’s format — a “play within a play” — follows a group of actors attempting to stage a murder mystery. As the drama unfolds, so do the disasters: miscues, collapsing scenery and unexpected surprises challenge the cast at every turn, according to a news release from Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation.
Why You’ll Love It:
• Non-stop humor and quick-fire jokes that keep audiences engaged.
• A twist on traditional theater with actors juggling dual identities — both their “actor” selves and their “character” roles.
• A showcase of student talent and resilience as they navigate comedic chaos on stage.
The student cast includes Hailee Norman, Kaitlyn Eastgate, Tobiah Lipsey, Kodiak Hillen, Tessa Rich, Cassie Rich, David Walker, Bryson Severns, Karlee Harshman, Jacob Hayes, Guadalupe Jimenez-Baca, Isabella Jones, Sarah Farley, Caitlyn Farley, Will Cunningham and Makenna Rassi.
The student director is Evelin Jimenez-Baca. The stage manager is Hope Blankenship. The technical crew includes Dustin Bibler, Anakin Burke, Shiye Coe, Brilynn Grosch, Gabriella Harter, Mia Martinez, Carlos Ortega, Daemon Ortiz, Bradly Ousley, Wyatt Reese, Miley Richard, Alex Sheetz, Savannah Smith, Skyla Wilcox, Anthony Farmer and Karsen Putman.
