A Warsaw teen was found critically injured early Saturday after being reportedly stabbed several times. Police and medics were called just before 1 a.m. to the 1900 block of Robin Drive, where 18-year-old Cody Joseph Thomas Slone was found in the roadway suffering from multiple stab wounds and bleeding excessively, according to Sgt. Chad Hill of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. Slone was taken to Kosciusko County Hospital, then transferred to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, in critical condition. Investigators said Slone had suffered at least one severed artery and arm muscle, and Hill said today he had undergone extensive surgery Saturday. He was listed in “stable” condition today. The sheriff’s department is not releasing details on a possible suspect at this time, though Hill did confirm a “person of interest” has been identified. Hill said the case has been handed over to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, and further details are expected Tuesday. “We’re trying to track him down,” Hill told the Times-Union. Hill said that “person of interest” was the same individual detectives targeted from the off-set, when investigators were led to a residence near where Slone was found and a search warrant was served. That address was withheld, with Hill citing the case being an “on-going investigation.” Hill would not release a motive in the stabbing.
