PIERCETON - A North Manchester teen was taken to the hospital after a personal watercraft accident Wednesday on Big Barbee Lake.
Derek A. Brown, 16, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment of head and leg injuries. He was admitted overnight for observation and was listed in stable condition at press time.
An Indiana Conservation Officer reported that Brown was operatng a personal watercraft on the lake, near Pierceton, at 7:30 p.m. when the craft apparently hit a wave. Brown reportedly flipped head first, striking the watercraft.
Assisting the conservation officers at the scene was North Webster EMS.
