MILFORD - A Milford teenager is in serious condition at a Fort Wayne hospital after a single-car accident Thursday morning near Milford.
Walter C. Runyan, 19, suffered multiple injuries and was airlifted from near the scene to Parkview Hospital.
According to a press release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Runyan lost control of his car on CR 200E, north of CR 750N, and struck a utility pole. Runyan was trapped in his car until emergency personnel could free him using hydraulic extrication tools.
Police said the roadway was slush-covered when the 9:57 a.m. accident occurred.
The accident remains under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were personnel from Milford police, fire and emergency medical services and Plain Township Fire Department and EMS.
