A Warsaw teen was taken to the hospital Friday after falling from a moving truck. According to a Warsaw Police Department accident report, an officer came upon Andrew D. Brock, 15, Rieder Street, Warsaw, lying on the ground near the entrance to the football field complex at Warsaw Community High School around 3:30 p.m. Friday. As the officer approached in his car, Brock got to his feet but appeared disoriented and had significant bleeding to his knee and the back of his head. The teen was reportedly very unsteady on his feet and collapsed again as the officer approached him. After viewing school video surveillance, the officer saw a truck stop near an entrance to the school and Brock was seen climbing onto the running boards of the vehicle as the driver, later identified as Bailey R. Whitford, 16, South Stonebridge Road, Warsaw, pulls away. The truck only traveled a short distance before Brock appeared to jump or fall from the side of the truck, tumbling over and hitting the pavement. Brock then rolled from the roadway into a ditch area. The video shows Whitford stopping nearby as Brock gets to his feet while holding and rubbing the top of his head. Whitford then drives away after appearing to communicate with Brock. Brock was then seen going inside an exterior fence of the football field attempting to compose himself. The report stated he appeared unsteady on his feet at this point, ultimately stumbling backward and falling onto his back, striking the back of his head on the pavement. He appeared briefly unconcious before rolling onto his side. Whitford later told police Brock approached him and climbed onto the vehicle, asking him to drive. He told police after he began pulling away, Brock jumped from the vehicle and fell. Brock claimed he only rememberd what happened before and after the incident. He was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital and received stitches to his knee and was diagnosed with a concussion.
