Teen In Custody After Stabbing

A Warsaw teen is in custody this morning after allegedly stabbing a man Thursday afternoon outside Warsaw's Burger King.

Andrew Phillip Dausman, 19, of 4330 Old Ind. 15N #31, Warsaw, is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a charge of aggravated battery. Bond is set at $2,000.

Dausman is accused of stabbing Cy Daniel Stump, 23, of Pierceton, multiple times with a knife with a 2-1/2-inch blade. The weapon was recovered by police from the west side of the restaurant property.

According to a Warsaw Police Department report, the assault resulted from of a disagreement over a girlfriend.

The attack was witnessed by Thomas Waikel, an off-duty Milford Police Department officer, who saw Dausman exit a vehicle on Eastlake Drive and approach Stump. The two men made contact with each other in the tree lawn adjacent to the business. Waikel also was on Eastlake Drive when the incident began.

Waikel was able to separate the two men before Warsaw police arrived at the scene, but not before Stump was stabbed and cut in the neck, nose and top of his head. Stump was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
