A Warsaw man involved in a June 2008 accident that claimed the life of two men and seriously injured two others now faces criminal charges related to the incident.
Nathan E. Creighton, 19, of 7589 W. Snyder Road, Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:38 a.m. Friday on a charge of driving while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury. His bond was set at $1,500.
On June 29, 2008, Creighton reportedly was driving on Ind. 25 when he tried to pass another vehicle and collided with a pickup driven by Tim J. Boganwright, Claypool.
Passengers in Creighton's car, Ryan S. Holloway, 20, Rochester, and Bryant M. Scott, 18, Tippecanoe, were pronounced dead at the scene, while Creighton and another passenger, Shawn A. Keckler, were seriously injured. Creighton and Keckler were airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital.
After the crash, police found a substantial amount of a substance believed to be marijuana in the vehicle. Tests performed on the substance confirmed it was marijuana.
Since the crash, the families of Holloway and Scott have filed civil lawsuits against Creighton, seeking damages awarded to cover losses suffered, court costs and attorney fees. Both families have requested jury trials in the civil matter.
