Teen Faces Alcohol Charge After Party

Another arrest has resulted from a teen gathering that took place Wednesday night at Hidden Lake in Warsaw.

Alejandro "Alex" Miguel Gonzalez, 17, of 786 Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw, was charged Thursday with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor after a teacher at Warsaw Community High School reportedly detected an odor of alcohol emitting from Gonzalez.

According to a Warsaw Police Department report, an alcohol screen was completed on Gonzalez in the school nurse's office, resulting in a positive test. Police were called about 10:15 a.m. and performed a portable breath test on Gonzalez. That test registered .03 percent blood-alcohol content.

Gonzalez's mother told police her son attended a party at Hidden Lake the previous night with 20 to 30 other teens. Gonzalez admitted drinking beer, but said he didn't know who provided the alcoholic beverages.

Five other teen-agers were charged late Wednesday and early Thursday for allegedly consuming alcohol. Those five were booked into the Kosciusko County Jail. Because he is only 17, Gonzalez was charged as a minor and released to his mother's custody. He is under house arrest until probation officials contact him.
