A Tippecanoe teen-ager was arrested on a charge of reckless driving after his car left the roadway at about 100 mph Wednesday evening near Warsaw.
Chad Richard Bradley, 18, of 19777 S. Birch Road, Tippecanoe, was later released from the Kosciusko County Jail after posting a $250 bond.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department accident report, Bradley was southbound on CR 400W, about 1,100 feet north of CR 200S, when he lost control of his car as he crested a hill. Bradley's car went left of center and he then apparently overcorrected before the car went sideways in the roadway. Bradley's car then went off the west side of CR 400W, hit a fence and rolled over into a field.
Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine said one of his deputies caught Bradley on radar traveling at about 100 mph just before the accident occurred. The officer turned his squad car around to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, but it had already wrecked, Rovenstine said.
Bradley suffered an elbow injury in the accident and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment prior to being booked into the county jail.
Damage is estimated at $5,000 to $10,000 to Bradley's car and $750 to $1,000 to property of Gerald Weirick, South CR 400W, Warsaw.
