Although the collection date may be set for the second week in June, the spring tax distribution should reach most government entities by June 30, according to County Auditor Sue Ann Mitchell.
Property owners in Harrison, Franklin and Seward townships will not be billed because they are tied to Fulton County by supporting the Tippecanoe Valley School Corp., Mitchell told the county commissioners Tuesday.
The state has not approved Fulton County's assessed valuations.
That county hired a company to figure real estate trends and the company's methods have not been approved by the state.
In addition to the townships and the school corporation, neither Mentone nor Burket will receive the June distribution, according to Mitchell. Representatives may ask for an advance of funds to tide them over financially.
Concerned about the surge in methodone use, the county health department, in partnership with the Bowen Center and the sheriff's department, is sponsoring a public service billboard.
Cost is $5,900 for a year, according to Bob Weaver, health department administrator. The information will be moved to another billboard every four weeks.
County commissioners are Ron Truex and Bob Conley. Brad Jackson was absent.
