With the help of a confidential informant, Warsaw police officers arrested a Syracuse woman for dealing meth. On April 28, a confidential informant for the Warsaw Police Department arranged to purchase half a gram of meth from Whitney Patterson. Patterson, 29, of 804 N. Mill St., Syracuse, agreed to meet the informant at a Warsaw grocery store. According to the probable cause affidavit provided by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, WPD waited in the parking lot while the informant and Patterson entered the store. Police witnessed the informant and Patterson exit the store, walk to the southwest corner of the building and exchange money for a small baggie. Patterson then left the area. Police were with the informant when Patterson called and told the informant that she gave them the wrong bag. The two went back to the grocery store and made another exchange. Police could overhear Patterson tell the informant that the first bag did not contain meth. Patterson then provided the $60 worth of meth. Police field tested the material, confirming that it was less than one ounce of crystal meth, a schedule II controlled substance. Patterson was arrested Tuesday for dealing meth and possession of meth. She was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on a $2250 bond.
