GOSHEN - Two Syracuse teen-agers were killed and a Syracuse woman injured in a two-car accident Monday afternoon near Goshen.
Daniel L. Cloud, 16, of West Boston Street, Syracuse, and Ruben Vela Jr., 16, of Pittsburgh Street, Syracuse, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the 3 p.m. accident at the intersection of Elkhart CRs 25 and 46, three miles south of Goshen. Neither teen was wearing a seat belt and Cloud was ejected from the car.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department, Cloud was the driver of the car he and Vela were traveling in when he reportedly disregarded a stop sign while southbound on CR 25. Cloud's vehicle entered the intersection and collided with a car driven by Cindy Marie Taylor, 44, of South Harkless Drive, Syracuse.
Taylor, who was wearing a seat belt and did not have a stop sign at the intersection, complained of neck pain.
Both of the cars were totaled, police said. Cloud's and Vela's obituaries appear on page 2A.
