Syracuse Man Arrested for Meth After Sleeping in Warsaw Walmart

A Syracuse man was arrested after sleeping for six hours on a bench inside Walmart and a mobile methlab was found on his mo-ped outside.
Warsaw Police received information Tuesday regarding a male subject who appeared to be sleeping on a bench inside Walmart for approximately six hours. Contact was made with the male subject, identified as Gary Steven Kirkwood, 9397 N. Koher Road East, Syracuse who was found to be in possession of items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Additionally, during the search of Kirkwood’s mo-ped, several other meth precursors were located as well as an HCL generator and two one-pot methamphetamine labs. The Warsaw Police Department Narcotics Team and the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team assisted with the methamphetamine lab disposal.
Kirkwood was arrested and transported to the Kosciusko County Jail on an active parole warrant as well as charges of possession of precursors and manufacturing methamphetamine.
