Another restaurant in Syracuse will soon be able to offer a full bar.
Grill-N-Grate BBQ, 1009 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, was approved 3-0 Thursday to have a beer, wine and liquor license during the Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Commission meeting.
Grill-N-Grate previously was only able to serve beer.
The new license doesn’t allow the restaurant to do carry-out.
Owner Alison Robie said at first the restaurant will just provide table service but that it may have a bar built in the future.
Robie will receive a letter of authority, which will allow the restaurant to start serving in as soon as three business days.
Waiting for a permit to come through the mail could take up to five weeks, said excise officer April Tackett.
A transfer of ownership at Los Gordos, 520 E. Winona Avenue, Warsaw, was continued until the board’s September meeting.
The hearing was continued because signage required by the state wasn’t posted at the restaurant.
Tackett also provided some clarification concerning a ruling from July’s commission meeting.
Oakwood Hotel was granted a liquor license and it was stated that hotels don’t use a quota system in Indiana.
To qualify as a hotel by state excise standards, Tackett said, a hotel must have 25 rooms for rent.
The following are businesses that had their licenses renewed without any violations: – Little Big Horn Golf Club, Old 30, Pierceton. – Good To Go No. 95, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. – Milford Party Pack, North Higbee Street. – CVS Pharmacy, North Detroit Street, Warsaw.
