Symmetry Medical Inc. announced Thursday it has signed an agreement with Allegiance Healthcare Corp.'s V. Mueller surgical instrument business.
The agreement will make Symmetry the exclusive U.S. distributor to Symmetry's OEM customers of certain V. Mueller surgical instruments and Genesis sterilization containers. In addition, V. Mueller gains rights to sell and distribute Symmetry's standard tray systems and proprietary surgical instruments to hospitals, surgery centers and physician offices.

"Our distribution of these products truly rounds out the 'Total Instrument Solution' for our OEM customers in all medical disciplines, providing them with one source for all their surgical instrument and delivery system needs.
Under the agreement, Allegiance will offer its customers Symmetry's PolyVac plastic tray line and Othy off-the-shelf specialty products. The agreement is expected to give Allegiance an increased presence serving manufacturers of healthcare implants and other products.
