Sun and fog is being blamed for an early morning collision at the intersection of Old 30 and Ind. 13 today.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Loren M. Pruitt, 65, Warsaw, was eastbound on Old 30 and disregarded the stop sign at Ind. 13. Pruitt told police he was blinded by sun and fog and didn’t see the stop sign.
Pruitt’s 1991 Chevy pickup then struck a 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by Jack H. Cook, 67, Middlebury, who was heading south on Ind. 13.
Both men suffered minor injuries from the airbags in their vehicles deploying but refused treatment at the scene.
