Stutzman Speaks At Right To Life Forum In WarsawCongressman Marlin Stutzman spoke about pro-life issues Saturday morning in Warsaw.
Approximately 70 people attended the Kosciusko County Right To Life legislative forum at First Christian Church, Warsaw.
Stutzman said the right-to-life movement is one he believes in passionately about, and is at the core of who he is.
"I believe life is a gift from God and we should respect life," Stutzman said.
He said with a pro-choice president and pro-choice congress there has been a lot of ground lost, but he said Speaker John Boehner is pro life.
Stutzman said, with the discussion of economy, sometimes life issues sit on the back burner.
"I think it is a great time to address the life issues and how our government is using tax dollars to fund abortions, and especially in a time when deficit spending is out of control," Stutzman said.
Stutzman said the House of Representatives is working on a continuing resolution bill that will be reviewed this week.
There are pro-life issues in the bill that will be voted on by the Senate this week.
The resolution ensures participating health plans are not prohibited from taking part in the Medicare program if they do not provide abortion services.
It also proposes to ban federal funding for abortions with the exceptions of rape and incest.
It also prevents use of congressional-appropriated funds for abortions, and prohibits the Department of Corrections to provide funding for abortions for inmates.
