Stutzman Speaks At KREMC In Warsaw3rd District congressional candidate Marlin Stutzman spoke Tuesday night at the Builders Association general membership and Kosciusko Trade Ally dinner.

The dinner was held at Kosciusko County REMC, Warsaw.

Stutzman, (R-Howe) said the Nov. 2 election is one of the most important elections, and these are serious times.

"I believe we are at a crossroads and have never been in a situation like this before with a threat to our freedom, liberty and Constitution," Stutzman said.

He said now is the time to educate ourselves in the role of the Constitution and the roles of the federal, state and local government.

Stutzman said in 1980 there was a trillion dollars in debt, and today there is 13 trillion dollars in debt.

Today, the federal government spends twice as much as what the state and local governments spend combined, Stutzman said.

"Until we get people in Washington who understand the principles of economics and not spending more money than we have we will continue to have problems," Stutzman said.

He said a balanced budget amendment would be a safeguard that protects the tax payer and provides accountability.

He said an issue that needs to be addressed is immigration, and said millions of dollars is being spent in illegal alien benefits.

"Until we tackle the immigration problem it will continue to tax our infrastructure," Stutzman said.

He said he believes people are looking for public servants in Washington, not career politicians.

"Politicians have been living off the taxpayer money for the last five year and I think it is important to get back to the principles that made our country the greatest in the world," Stutzman said.

He said government needs to enforce immigration laws, and not spend money that it doesn't have.
