Two men were arrested Sunday after a stolen mo-ped lead police to discovering a meth lab in an area hotel with one man barricaded inside.
Officers located a stolen mo-ped outside of the Victory Hotel, 223 W. Jefferson Street, Warsaw, Sunday morning, according to a press release from the Warsaw Police Department. The resulting investigation found an active meth lab inside apartment No. 13.
Police arrested Jeffery Owsley, 21, Warsaw, and charged him with dealing methamphetamine and possession of precursors to the manufacture of meth, both felony charges. Police also charged him with a misdemeanor of theft and possession of stolen property.
While at the apartment, an informant told police a wanted felon, identified as Charles Dove, 31, North Webster, had taken a handgun from apartment  No. 13 and was upstairs in apartment No. 2.
Police verified Dove was in the apartment and had two active felony warrants. The Warsaw Police SWAT team was called and negotiations to get Dove to surrender failed. Eventually SWAT shot tear gas into apartment No. 2 and Dove emerged and was taken into custody.
Dove was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on felony charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and resisting law enforcement. Felony warrants were also served for probation violation and possession of precursors to the manufacture of meth by a habitual offender.
Dove is being held on no bond and Owsley is being held on a prosecutorial hold.
The Warsaw and Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab teams cleaned up the scene of the meth lab. Warsaw Police were assisted by the Indiana State Police, Winona Lake Police Department, Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Multi-Township EMS and Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory.
