Stillwater Hospice announced Monday that it has received a $20,000 grant from the K21 Health Foundation to support hospice, palliative and grief care services for residents of Kosciusko County.
The funding will help ensure that individuals and families facing serious illness or the death of a loved one have access to skilled care and support close to home, according to a news release from Stillwater Hospice.
Stillwater Hospice provides hospice and palliative care services, as well as adult grief support through the Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center, regardless of a person’s ability to pay.
“We are deeply grateful to K21 Health Foundation for investing in compassionate care for the people of Kosciusko County,” said Leslie Friedel, CEO of Stillwater Hospice. “This support helps us provide comfort, guidance, and dignity to patients and families during some of life’s most challenging moments.”
K21 Health Foundation President and CEO Rich Haddad said the foundation is proud to support Stillwater Hospice’s mission in the community.
“Hospice, palliative and grief care services provide critical support to individuals and families navigating serious illness and loss,” Haddad said. “Stillwater Hospice brings compassionate, high-quality care to Kosciusko County residents, and we are honored to help ensure these important services remain available.”
Founded in 1888, Stillwater Hospice serves 13 counties throughout northeast Indiana and cares for more than 3,000 people annually. The organization’s mission is to provide compassion, comfort and guidance through life’s journey, while turning no one away who has no other means to pay for care.
