The man Warsaw police suspect of slicing a 20-inch gash into the arm of a city teen early Saturday, critically injuring him, has turned himself in.
Michael Casey Bryant, 30, of 1903 Robin Drive, surrendered to authorities just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. With his attorney present, Bryant was booked on felony charges of aggravated battery and battery by means of a deadly weapon. He subsequently bonded out.
Bryant is accused of stabbing 18-year-old Cody Joseph Thomas Slone following a party in the 1900 block of Robin Drive just before 1 a.m. Saturday. Bryant allegedly pulled a 4-inch pocket knife on Slone and sliced a 20-inch cut into Slone’s arm, severing an artery and a muscle and leaving him collapsed and bleeding extensively in the roadway. As Bryant reportedly fled, Slone was hospitalized in critical condition.
Slone remains in “stable” condition at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Warsaw police said Slone had invited Bryant and Bryant’s girlfriend to a Robin Drive house party, at which a group fight broke out. As Slone, Bryant and Bryant’s girlfriend walked from the party, witnesses said Bryant pulled the knife and stabbed Slone.
