Continuing its efforts to create a unique social club atmosphere in Warsaw, the St. Regis Club recently held a grand opening for its bar. The bar, 114 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, is geared toward those who enjoy craft and highly rated beers and features 27 different kinds of scotches with a goal of 60 in mind. While the bar is for members of the club, those interested in checking out the club and the bar can do so by contacting the club through their website at www.saintregisclub.com St. Regis Club is currently offering free guest passes for those interested. St. Regis Club founder Dave Gustafson said the way the bar is designed is to create lounge atmosphere. Jazz and classical music often plays in the background and Tim Hori, the club’s director of operations, said they will bring in live music. The grand opening of the bar was Dec. 9, and the bar’s hours are currently 5 to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. The beers featured at the bar range from more well-known brands like Anchor Steam and Bell’s products to various Belgain trappist ales. All the beers at the St. Regis Club are highly rated. The club is also introducing a Scotch Flight menu where people can sample different half ounce pours of Scotches for as little as $12.50 for five pours. Various wines and other spirits are also available now at the St. Regis Club. While the club offers different sorts of clubs like a running club, faith forum and travel club, with the new bar, those members interested can purchase a scotch journal to keep track of the different ones they try. Gustafson said the goal is to have 60 scotches on hand by the spring. The bar is the cornerstone in the club’s transformation. Formerly a bookstore, renovations have taken place to transform it into a sort of lounge and facility you would likely find in a large city. The club’s gym is currently being renovated and should be completed by February. With the improved gym, the club will also add trainer Chris Gavranic, who was formerly employed with the Milwaukee Brewers organization. The club also will introduce a wine and cheese tasting for the first Friday of every month. St. Regis also continues to bring in different speakers from varied backgrounds. U.S. Senate candidate Richard Mourdock will speak at the club Jan. 25. For more information on Mourdock’s visit, contact the club through the website. After hours, those visiting the club can park at a Warsaw city parking lot adjacent to the club.
