For more than 20 years, Fast Cab Taxi has offered free rides to and from sponsoring businesses in Warsaw on New Year’s Eve thanks to those businesses. “It gets busier and busier every year with the New Year’s program we have. That’s due to the sponsorship we have each year. They help incur the cost,” said Fast Cab owner Dave Cesaretti. “We have hundreds of riders.” People like to celebrate New Year’s, he said, and Fast Cab wants to make sure they get to their destination and home again safely. The free cab rides are within Warsaw’s city limits, but Fast Cab can take partygoers out of town for a charge. Fast Cab does take reservations, and people can make them now by calling 574-269-2222. “If you’re going to a special party, call now to reserve. We want to take care of you,” he said. “We’ll have a full fleet out: two party buses, all the taxis and a couple of limos,” Cesaretti stated. The free rides sponsored by local businesses will be offered from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 3 a.m. Wednesday. “I love doing this, but I want to make sure everyone gets home safely,” he said. Sponsors for the free ride program this year include Rex’s Rendezvous, Susie’s Sandbar, Service Liquor, Liquid Assets, American Legion, Sorg Nissan, Moose Lodge, Warsaw Bowl, Nelson Beverage, Schrader’s Auto, Clevenger Insurance, Bennigan’s, Lakeside Chevrolet, Time Out, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Aloha Bar.
