Spin Doctors To Headline Classic Rock Concert In Warsaw

Spin Doctors will be the headliner for Warsaw Parks Department Classic Rock Concert on June 14 in Central Park in Warsaw.
The free concert is at 8 p.m. with opening act Kyxx, an Anderson-based classic rock band, to perform at 6:30 p.m.
Blue Oyster Cult was originally scheduled to perform, but cancelled their show due to scheduling conflicts.
Spin Doctors is known for songs such as “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong,” “Two Princes,” “What Time Is It,” “How Could You Want Him (When You Know You Could Have Me?),” and “Jimmy Olsen’s Blues.”
The Spin Doctors' debut studio album, “Pocket Full of Kryptonite,” was released in August 1991.
Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety Friday approved a $27,500 contract between Music of Spin Doctors Inc. and the city for the group to perform.
As previously announced, the Blues and Barbecue concert is June 28 with Mike Milligan and Steam Shovel performing at 6 p.m. and Nick Moss performing at 8 p.m.
The country music concert is July 19 with Josh Thompson performing at 6:30 p.m. and Joe Diffie at 8 p.m.
The free Central Park concert series kicks off May 24 with classic and acoustic rock group The Time Travelers performing from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Central Park.
The board Friday approved the parks department applying for $1,263.20 in event cancellation insurance for the classic rock concert and country concert that is July 19 with Josh Thompson performing at 6:30 p.m. and Joe Diffie performing at 8 p.m.
The insurance coverage allows for claims to be filed in instances of inclement weather or if concerts are cancelled.
It also covers costs associated with relocating to places such as the Tiger Den in instances of bad weather.
Also approved was a $50,750 contract between the city and Ground Rules Inc., Zionsville, Ind., for a comprehensive plan for the city.
In other business, the board approved a $10,482 contract between Royalty Roofing and the city for roof repair at Center Lake Pavilion.
Also approved was a $37,269.30 contract with Butt and Timmons Construction for making the Beyer Park restroom facility ADA compliant.
The board approved requests for Warsaw Street Department to purchase an arrow board used to help with traffic control and work zone safety for $4,494 and a $14,582 air compressor from Southeastern Equipment Company.
The department has two air compressors that were purchased in 1989 that don’t have parts for them. They will be traded in on one new air compressor.
The board also approved the street department purchasing a $7,000 Bobcat.
The board also approved the street department purchasing a one-ton dump truck from Rice Ford for $24,762 and a $14,343 dump body and plow from W.A. Jones.
The board opened bids for storm lining repair on North Buffalo and Canal streets. The bids will be taken under advisement and approved at the next meeting.
The board also opened bids for 2013 and 2014 for salt for the Warsaw Street Department that will be taken under advisement.
The board also approved Warsaw Wastewater Treatment Utility facility purchasing a $22,356.70 utility vehicle from Bobcat of Warsaw.
The board approved Warsaw Fire Department applying for a $2,000 grant through the Kosciusko County  Community Foundation to help support Play It Safe Family Safety Day on September 14.
