Skillman Asks Hoosiers To Participate In Letter-Writing Campaign

Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman is encouraging Hoosiers to participate in a letter-writing campaign to send letters and cards to troops this Christmas.
The fourth annual Hoosier Cheer For Our Heroes holiday letter-writing campaign is aimed to give Hoosiers an opportunity for people to send thoughts and prayers to U.S. troops spending the Christmas season away from their homes and loved ones.People who would like to send a card or letter to troops should send them to Skillman's office no later than Nov. 18.
"Our U.S. servicemen and women should know Hoosiers appreciate the heroic work they are doing over the holiday season and throughout the year," Skillman said in a press release.
Guidelines have been set when sending the cards or letters: Keep messages light-hearted and encouraging, talk about the weather, family, pets and hobbies, family traditions for the holidays and well wishes for safety and success.
Do not use glitter or confetti on the cards or letters. Do not include candy, money or other items.
Cards and letters to troops can be mailed to Office of Lt. Governor Becky Skillman, c/o Hoosier Cheer for Our Heroes, 200 W. Washington St., Suite 333, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
