Kosciusko REMC members will select from six candidates to fill three positions on the KREMC Board of Directors during the 73rd Annual Meeting of the local electric cooperative Saturday at the Warsaw Community Church, 2300 Ranch Road.
Attending members also will hear an annual business summary for the cooperative and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities during the pre-meeting expo.
In the board election, incumbent and current board chairman John H. Anglin Jr. is opposed for re-election by challenger Greg Jackson; incumbent and current board vice chairman William Stump Jr. is opposed for re-election by Lewis Collier; and incumbent Dan Tucker is opposed for re-election by Gary Adams.
Information about each candidate is posted at the KREMC office, 370 S. CR 250E, Warsaw, or can be reviewed at the annual meeting prior to the election. Election winners will each serve a three-year term on the board.
Besides the business meeting, other activities will include information booths on KREMC billing and other member services, 2012 rebate programs, health screenings by the Kosciusko Community Hospital Health & Wellness Center, bucket truck rides (weather permitting), kids activities including a program by Fort Wayne Science Central, door prizes and free doughnuts and coffee. Attending members also will receive an $8 credit on their May electric bill.
This year’s main entertainment will be by ventriloquist, puppeteer and comedian Michael Harrison.
He has appeared with such varied acts as The Muppets and Boyz to Men. He wrote and starred in the award-winning TV show “Kids in the Firehall” that appeared on Nickelodeon and was a finalist on the “America’s Got Talent” TV show.
“We want to encourage KREMC members to attend,” said KREMC President & CEO Steve Rhodes. “As a member-owned cooperative the annual meeting is an especially significant event because it provides every member with the opportunity to help determine how the organization is governed and to learn more about the benefits and services that are available to them as a KREMC member.”
Kosciusko REMC is a Touchstone Energy® electric cooperative serving more than 17,000 members throughout Kosciusko County and into surrounding counties.
