Councilwoman Nichole Taylor moved for a $0.75-per-hour raise as a compromise between her own preference of $1–$1.50 per hour, Councilmember Jean Weller's of no raise, and council president Hugh Murfin's of $0.50 per hour. Weller voted against the raise.
