SILVER LAKE - The town of Silver Lake announced it has been awarded a $300,000 grant from the K21 Health Foundation.
The funds will be used to construct a new Community Center in the town. The center will focus on resources, services and recreational needs of all ages, from youth to senior citizens.
“This grant will allow us to impact our community and the surrounding areas, affording the town a way to build the community center. By doing so, K21 has enabled the town to create a space where future initiatives can provide residents with resources to support physical activity, nutrition, and wellness, ultimately improving their lives. The town is tremendously grateful for K21's support of this project and for their generosity in future endeavors for Silver Lake,” according to a statement from the town’s officials.
“Any healthy community needs opportunities to live well, and to do so together. A community center is the perfect place for a town to provide those opportunities for its residents. K21 is thrilled to be a small part of this big future for Silver Lake,” said Rich Haddad, K21 president and CEO.
