Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department detectives are warning citizens of another telepone scam occuring in the southeast portion of the county. Officers have received reports from residents in the Sidney area that an individual has contacted them via telephone and attemped to elicit personal information related to their computer – usually usernames or passwords – by using “various verbal maneuvers and tactics.” In most cases, the caller has been targeting older citizens by confusing them. KCSD detectives urge citizens to be very protective of their personal information. If contacted, officers advise the public to instruct the caller they are not interested and hang up the phone.
