Semi Parked On Roadway Leads to Accident

Posted
A semi tractor-trailer parked in the roadway caused a collision this morning on Pierceton Road.
Officers responded at 7:44 a.m. today to a report of an accident involving a semi tractor-trailer and car, according to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Chad Hill.
Jacob D. Guy, 26, Warsaw, the driver of the semi owned by Zolman Farms, was parked on the south side of Pierceton Road. He then pulled out of the parking area to go north and ended up going east, Hill said. Guy pulled out onto the opposite side of the road and stopped the semi.
The semi was still blocking the roadway when it was hit by a westbound vehicle driven by Michael L. Miner, 66, Pierceton.
Miner reported a minor injury of hand abrasions and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Guy did not report any injuries.
Hill said the damage was estimated at $5,000 to $10,000 to the semi and $10,000 to $20,000 to the car.
KCSD is investigating the accident.
