Warsaw Community Schools is prepared to approve a 1997 budget that is 3.8 percent larger than the current budget.
School board members heard a 30-minute review of budget details Monday and are expected to approve the $38 million proposal when they meet Aug. 21 during a special session.
Business manager Rande Thorpe said most of the increase is due to salaries and benefits.
He also pointed out that revenues from the state had again slightly decreased because of the state funding formula.
Nobody from the public offered any input or reaction.
The increase in state support rose 1.9 percent, according to statistics provided by the school.
The decrease is due to Warsaw's large assessed valuation, which compared to other school districts, is considered high.
