Filings for the school board elections began May 19 and ends at noon June 18.
As of Tuesday, according to the Kosciusko County Clerk’s Office, the following people have filed for a seat on a local school board:
• Warsaw School Board, District 7, Benjamin Rice and Ryan Parker, both are Republicans.
• Warsaw School Board, District 5, incumbent Dennis Duncan, Republican.
• Warsaw School Board, District 2, incumbent Heather Reichenbach, Republican.
• Warsaw School Board, District 1, incumbent Tom Westerhof, Republican.
• Wawasee School Board, District 2, Jason Ughetti, Republican, and Kim H. Nguyen, no party listed.
• Wawasee School Board, District 3, Beth Beer, Republican.
Other school board offices up for election this fall are:
• Tippecanoe Valley Schools, District 3, Kosciusko County, and Districts 4 and 5, Fulton County.
• Wa-Nee Schools, Harrison, Locke and Union townships in Elkhart County.
• Wawasee Community Schools, District 1.
• Whitko Community Schools, District 4 in Jackson, Monroe and Washington townships in Kosciusko County and District 5 in Richland and Cleveland townships, Whitley County.
• Triton School Board, District 1 in Tippecanoe Township in Marshall County; District 2 in Etna Township in Kosciusko County; and District 4 in the town of Bourbon in Marshall County.
Three Libertarians also have filed for seats on the Wayne Township Board for the fall election. They are David Lewis, Cassandra Rolon and Marco Rolon. Libertarian Alexandra Vergiels filed for Wayne Township trustee.
Republican candidates for Wayne Township Board were unopposed in the primary. They included Lance Grubbs, Gordon Nash and Joshua Spangle. Democrat Katelyn Smith also was unopposed in the May primary, which means there will be seven candidates in the November election for the three seats on the Wayne Township Board.
Republican Jeanie Stackhouse, Wayne Township incumbent trustee, was unopposed in the primary election.
Other new filings include:
• Monroe Township Board, Patrick Landrigan and Sonya Hathaway, both Republicans. They will join Republican Donald L. Ellison on the ballot in November.
