Michael Schenck has been elected to an at-large seat on the board of directors for the Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy for the 2026-27 term.
Schenck was selected by the board of directors to fill one open position from a field of 34 possible candidates from seven school systems.
His background in activities includes football and track and field, Key Club, SODA, Tiger Leadership Council. He will be a graduate of Warsaw Community High School in spring 2027.
Additionally, Schenck is a 2026 graduate of the Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy where he participated with four other group members where they developed and implemented an extensive service project related to the collection and purchase of over 200 pairs of shoes and an undisclosed amount of money for the sports ministry AGAITAS, and international sports camp and outreach program with its origins in Warsaw.
Cindy Krou, KYLA president, stated, "We are proud to have Mr. Schenck join the board of directors this upcoming year. We believe Michael has the necessary leadership skill set to help assist the board in an advisory capacity to help further develop the program in leadership and community service."
Schenck term will begin in May 2026 and continue through May 2027.
