MILFORD - A Middlebury man was killed in a one-car accident Saturday night near Milford.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Rohit Y. Chaudhari, 30, suffered extensive internal injuries and was transported to Goshen General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said Chaudhari was southbound on Ind. 15, south of CR 1350N, near Milford, when his car rubbed against the guardrail. Chaudhari then apparently overcorrected the vehicle and slid across southbound Ind. 15 before the vehicle left the east side of the roadway and rolled several times before coming to rest in a field.
Chaudhari was ejected from his vehicle during the accident.
Also injured in the crash was a passenger, Haresh Jhamandes, 19, of Elkhart. Jhamandes suffered minor injuries and was treated at GGH and later released, according to a KCSD press release.
Police believe alcohol could have been a factor in the accident.
Milford police and fire departments, Indiana State Police and Milford and Syracuse emergency medical services assisted at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
