Ryman Sisters Lift Lady Tigers To WinThe fourth time was a charm for the Warsaw Lady Tigers.

The Ryman sisters made sure of it.

In the regular season finale Saturday, the Lady Tigers hosted and defeated Northern Lakes Conference rival Goshen 45-39.

The game was originally scheduled for Jan. 12, but was postponed three times because of the weather.

Maddie Ryman, one of two Warsaw seniors, scored a game-high 16 points on senior day, while her sophomore sister, Kensie Ryman, netted nine points.

Halle Shipp, the Lady Tigers’ other senior, was in the starting lineup and finished the game 1 of 2 at the free throw line for a point.

Freshman Abby Sanner tallied five points and seven rebounds in the win, while junior Brielle Harrison added five points and four boards.

Sophomore Kendall Wayne chipped in with four points, freshman Kacilyn Krebs contributed three points, and sophomore Audrey Grimm tallied two points.

Brynn Shoup-Hill paced the Lady RedHawks with 13 points and seven rebounds, and Josie Walters and Elizabeth Kirkton finished with 10 and eight points, respectively.

The Lady Tigers, now 14-8 overall and 5-2 in the NLC, scored 21 of their 45 points in the fourth quarter.

Warsaw scored eight points in each of the first three frames.

Goshen, now 14-8 and 4-3 in the NLC, led 12-8 after one quarter of play, 18-16 at halftime and 25-24 at the end of the third.

The game featured five lead changes and four ties.

With Saturday’s win, the Lady Tigers lead Goshen 44-4 in the overall series. Goshen’s wins came in 1981, ‘82, 2012 and last year, when the Lady RedHawks upended Warsaw in its first season with coach Lenny Krebs, who spent the previous 14 seasons coaching Goshen.

Both Warsaw and Goshen will play this week in Class 4A Sectional 4 at Northridge High School.

Warsaw will play in the 6 p.m. game Wednesday against Elkhart Memorial, followed by Goshen and Elkhart Central.
