Rozella Ford For Sale To Right Buyer

Posted
The board of directors of the Lakeland Golfer Association are in the process of seeking new ownership for Rozella Ford Golf Course.
The board has decided it is in the best interest of the stockholders and membership to seek new owners who would be willing and able to invest in the golf course.
The golf course has been owned for more than 50 years by Lakeland Golfer Association.
Tracy Furnivall, Lakeland Golfer Association board of directors member, confirmed during a telephone interview Friday afternoon that there were a number of factors contributing to the decision to seek a buyer.
The factors include a tough economy, severe weather the last two summers and a failed lease with Bogey’s Restaurant.
Furnivall also said the board has been considering new ownership the past two to three months, and hopes to have a buyer by the end of this month.
He said the board is strongly in favor of trying to find a buyer who will commit to continuing to operate the property as a public golf course.
The ownership effort is in its early stages, but several potential buyers have already expressed interest in line with the board of directors, Furnivall said.
Jeremy Skinner, Warsaw city planner, said the property is zoned residential.
The golf course is within Warsaw city limits and the zoning would allow for continued use as a golf course, but the land could be developed for housing or farming pending plat approval.
Any other use would require a petition to the Board of Zoning Appeals and a public meeting.
