Warsaw Rotary Club held its annual Salvation Army Day in December and recently announced the final amount of donations raised.
The club collected $52,000 for the Salvation Army at Christmas as well as throughout the year. It was the 43rd annual event chaired by Bruce Howe.Originally, it was called "Brice's Day" in honor of Brigadier Brice Phillipson, a longtime Salvation Army officer and Warsaw Rotary Club member.
John Hall served as co-chairman of the event, supporting the work of the Salvation Army of Kosciusko County.
"The needs are greater this year," said Howe.
"We're asking everyone to dig deeper than ever in the past because the Salvation Army is helping so many in need every day," Hall said.
The Salvation Army assisted more than 450 families that included more than 1,100 children through its Angel Tree program.
The organization also provides services to those in need throughout the year, and most recently began focusing on the needs of the homeless.
