Romance Movie to be Shot in Winona Lake

WINONA LAKE – Drew Waters, film director with Argentum Entertainment, Woodland Hills, Ca., attended the Winona Lake council meeting Tuesday to inform them a romance film will be shot in Winona Lake over a four-week period in September.
The name of the film is “Nouvelle Vie.” Plans are for the film to be completed in spring 2015 with a fall 2015 release date.
Chad Gundersen, producer, Kris Kimlin, director of photography, and Jim Cunningham, production designer, also attended the meeting to show support for the film.
Waters thanked Dane and Mary Louise Miller and George Clemens, who attended Tuesday’s meeting,  and council President Bruce Shaffner for their support of the film.
He said it will be a romance movie that is wrapped around overcoming loss of a loved one and will be a family-friendly movie. The film features middle school and high school young love and how life gets in the way of promises and finding out the person you’re in love with is dying and you’re fighting that issue.
“I feel your town fits this movie perfectly,” Waters said.
Waters said he met the Millers two years ago during a fundraiser for the troops and toured Winona Lake.
The movie will feature Grace College as well as other locations in the town. Some roads may need to be shut down temporarily to shoot the film and there will be night shoots.
There will be a rain sequence in the film that the production crew will seek the fire and police department’s assistance with.
“Our hope for this is to not interrupt the town. We simply want to come in and showcase the town and wrap this movie up,” Waters said.
Waters said the crew is still looking for a production office with cubicles for the film.
“You have full support from the council and anything we can do to assist you all we will help you with this,” Shaffner said.
