WINONA LAKE – The Right To Life of North Central Indiana’s Legacy of Life Banquet is scheduled for Sept. 23 in Winona Lake. The banquet is from 6 to 8:45 p.m. at the Orthopaedic Capital Center on the Grace College campus in Winona Lake. This year’s MC, Randy Polston, will be recognized by many from his years in the Warsaw School system. Polston is currently Grace College Director of Applied Learning and a member of the Warsaw Community School Board. Jeff Van Houten will provide piano selections before the banquet and during dinner. Our Father’s House will cater the dinner. The keynote presentation will be given by Melissa Ohden, the survivor of a failed saline abortion in 1977. Ohden and her husband Ryan have a daughter, Olivia, whose birth at the same hospital where Melissa’s life was supposed to end has significantly shaped her ministry. Ohden is the founder and director of For Olivia’s Sake, an organization which seeks to raise awareness of the intergenerational impact of abortion on men, women, children, families and communities. In 2012, Ohden founded The Abortion Survivors Network, after recognizing the number of abortion survivors and how most felt alone in this role. She also recognized the need for the public to be educated about the reality of failed abortions and abortion survivors. Ohden has been featured on television and radio programs including The 700 Club, EWTN’s Life on the Rock and Defending Life, Fox News, Facing Life Head On, Focus on the Family, American Family Radio and the Mike Huckabee show. Her life and ministry is featured in the award-winning pro-life documentary, A Voice for Life. The evening also will include the Right to Life update and plans for the upcoming year as well as a report from Heartline Pregnancy Center. Tickets are $20 per person and can be ordered by sending a check, payable to P.O. Box 1162, Warsaw, IN 46581. For more information, visit nci4life.org or call 574-306-7406.
