Action is being taken against two local establishments that allegedly sold alcoholic beverages prior to 6 p.m. on Election Day, which is against Indiana law.

Notice of the violation was served to employees of El Arriero, North Detroit Street, Warsaw, and Mi Lindo Acapulco, East Center Street, Warsaw. Enforcement action will be taken by the Indiana Excise Police.

According to a press release issued by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, complaints received by the Warsaw Police Department Detective Division led to the investigation of alleged illegal sales.

For the investigation, detectives from the WPD and officers from the drug task force and excise police visited several Warsaw establishments that sell alcoholic beverages.

Several alcohol purchases were reportedly made by the officers at El Arriero and Mi Lindo Acapulco during the lunch hour.

According to Indiana law, alcoholic beverages cannot be sold until the polls close on Election Day.

All other establishments visited Tuesday were in compliance with the law, according to police.
