    Frank Manwaring, secretary-treasurer of Midwest Poultry Services, Mentone, was honored in Indianapolis recently for his distinguished service to the Indiana poultry industry with the Indiana State Poultry Association Golden Egg Award.

Manwaring is a member of Midwest United Egg Producers and American Egg Board, and serves as treasurer to the Indiana State Poultry Association.

    WASHINGTON - Four students, including one from Syracuse, have been named winners of an essay contest sponsored by Congressman Floyd Fithian on the subject of what kind of a job a Congressman should do.

Selected from entries received from 12 participating high schools in the Second District was Kathi Goins of Syracuse, a student at Wawasee High School.

    Pollyanna Mink, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mink, South Whitley, has been chosen as one of Indiana University's beauty queens, and her picture will appear in the beauty section of the '51 Arbutus, I.U.'s year book. Mink, a sophomore in the school of music, represented her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, in the annual college beauty pageant, held on the Bloomington campus last week-end.

    A quartette of Kosciusko County school instructors will broadcast tonight from the Sears-Roebuck WLS station at Chicago between 8 and 9 o'clock a concert which many Warsaw and Kosciusko County people will tune in to hear.

The quartette, composed of P.L. Huffaker, Burket, George Ralson, Milford, Franks Sanders, Claypool, and J.S. Chambers, left for Chicago at the invitation of the WLS station. Mr. Huffaker will sing one of his own compositions, "My Heart Yearns for You," a solo number.
