    Jeremy Greene, an 8-year-old moto-cross racer from Warsaw, has qualified for national competition at Loretta Lynn's Dude Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Greene, the son of Dean and Geretta Greene, recently qualified by placing 10th in a field of 40 riders.

Aug. 1 1972

    Humane officer Nate Konkle and Eugene Brumfield captured a peregrine falcon in Herscher addition this week. Konkle received a call that a large hawk was in a yard on Kincaide Street and went to investigate. The Humane Shelter will keep the bird long enough to make sure it is not ill, as several reports were received of persons in the area being scratched by the bird.

Aug. 1 1947

    Elmer Hawley, former Warsaw radio repair man, has been appointed instructor in electronics at Norfolk, Va. The veteran, who wears three hash marks, each representing four years of service, gets the permanent rank of chief petty officer.

Aug. 1 1922

    Noah William Tinkey, residing west of Warsaw, has been accepted by headquarters at Columbus Barracks to enter the Citizens' Military Training Camp, starting Aug. 1 and continuing for 30 days. Headquarters expects to announce the names of other applicants from Kosciusko County soon.
