    Stephen Slaughter and Hanni Miller are representing Warsaw Christian School in Indianapolis at the Association of Christian Schools International Regional Spelling Meet. Slaughter, grade five, was first in the district. Miller, grade six, was fourth in the district.

    A Warsaw native, Michael F. Johnston, will become Indiana Highway Commission traffic engineer in the Seymour district, effective April 10.

Johnston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Johnston, 768 W. Center St., has been employed in the Seymour district of the state highway department since he obtained his civil engineering degree from Indiana Tech at Fort Wayne in 1972.

    Douglas Pilcher, Syracuse, won the all-events championship of the annual Warsaw city bowling tournament, it was announced today by C.W. Best, secretary of the local bowling association.

Pilcher had an actual total of 1,642 pins for his nine games, which with his handicap of 270, gave him a total of 1,912, four pins better than Russell Lichtenwalter, Warsaw, who was second with 1,908.

    The picture section of an Indianapolis Sunday newspaper had two pictures of interest to Warsaw people. One was of Mrs. Edward B. Bunk, in her bridal gown. She recently was married to Mr. Funk who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer B. Funk, of this city. The other was a photograph of the Schubert Quartet, showing Bessie May Lowry, former Warsaw girl, as the soprano.
