The Wayne Township community canning center will be opened in the kitchens of the First Presbyterian Church with Mrs. Nellie Arnold in charge of women's work. From the governor's commission of unemployment relief, L. J. Considine, case work supervisor, has secured complete canning equipment, including two pressure cookers and two automatic sealers. At first 3,500 quart cans and 500 pint cans are being used.

The first canning is being made of apples to be followed by beans, tomatoes, corn and beets. Labor is being volunteered and also, women on the relief rolls are helping with the canning.
