Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Representatives of the local American Red Cross are making an urgent plea for blood donors.
In addition to a bloodmobile planned for today at Center Lake Pavilion, another has been slated for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Becky Notestine, executive director of the Kosciusko County American Red Cross, announced today.
Officials hope to collect 100 units today and another 100 Wednesday. Supplies of all blood types are low, but 0+ and O- are especially low.
Notestine attributed the shortage to recent cancellations of bloodmobiles because of inclement weather. Bloodmobiles that weren't canceled attracted fewer donors because of poor road conditions, she said.
