SOUTH BEND – Nominations are being accepted for REAL Services’ Annual Age of Excellence Awards.
The awards celebrate unsung heroes in REAL Services’ six-county service area of Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall and St. Joseph counties. These heroes are spouses, sons, daughters, neighbors, friends, businesses and professionals who give of themselves to care for the elderly and low-income in the community.
The award categories are:
• Business of the Year.
•The Wyatt Mick Volunteer of the Year.
• Caregiver of the Year.
• Professional of the Year.
• The Les Fox Hoosier Lifetime Award.
• Change Agent of the Year.
• Agency/Program Serving Low-income Award.
• Sargent Shriver Lifetime Achievement Award

Each nominee will receive a complimentary reservation for the 2019 Age of Excellence Awards luncheon and a discounted ticket for an invited guest. In addition, each nominee will be recognized with a certificate acknowledging their kind acts to those in need.
Deadline to submit a nominee is 4 p.m. March 8.
The 2019 Age of Excellence Awards luncheon is planned for April 23 at the Century Center in South Bend. Doors open at 11 a.m., with live music and the recognition luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Cost of this event is $50 per person; parking in the Century Center lot is free.
Deadline for luncheon reservations is April 10.
Keynote speaker will be football legend Lou Holtz, who led the University of Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish football team to the 1988 national championship.
