Raber Named Poster Baby for National Ag Week

Posted
In celebration of National Agriculture Week, the Kosciusko County Agriculture Awareness Committee recognized Alexander Raber for being the first baby born on National Ag Day Thursday.

Raber and his parents, Nat and Kelly Raber, received a gift basket filled with baby toys, onesies, a baby blanket and other items. The giveaway is the kick off for two additional upcoming events.

The Agriculture Awareness Committee also hosts Ag Day in April for area fourth-graders and the Taste of Agriculture for the entire community. All community members are invited to attend Taste of Agriculture April 10 starting at 5 p.m. at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.

The free event will feature foods produced in Kosciusko County and will provide an opportunity to meet farmers that produce and sell these products. Attendees have the chance to win door prizes including grocery gift cards, locally grown food products and gift certificates to area agribusiness.

The Rabers are from Winona Lake and Alexander, 8 pounds, 5 ounces, joins a brother Jackson, 22 months, who was born on Earth Day. Pictured with the Rabers are Ag Awareness Committee members Waneta Bishop and Lorraine Anglin.
