Trivia buffs from around Kosciusko County will have a chance to show off their knowledge March 5 at the Community Quiz Bowl.
A fund-raiser for the Warsaw Community Foundation for Public Education Inc., the Quiz Bowl features teams from area businesses and organizations. The teams pay to compete, answering questions this year on academics, events and people of the 20th century and fun - which includes advertising slogans, holidays, music and sports.
This year's Quiz Bowl is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. March 5 in the Career Center gym at Warsaw Community High School.
The Foundation for Public Education works with Warsaw Community Schools to promote academic excellence by giving grants to teachers, classrooms and schools. For example, the foundation recently gave a grant to an elementary school for a program in which kids wrote and assembled their own books.
They also sponsored the chess tournament at Warsaw Community Schools and gave a grant to the health class at Edgewood Middle School to buy a new skeleton.
Approximately 30 teams will compete. Businesses or organizations who don't have teams can check with their Human Resources department about forming a team.
Admission for spectators is free. Friends and families of participants are encouraged to attend and cheer on their teams.
