Lindsey Helmer, seated, was selected Queen of the Lakes June 17. Helmer, 18, is the daughter of Dennis and Denise Helmer, Avilla. The annual pageant traditionally marks the start of North Webster's Mermaid Festival, now in its 55th year. Helmer is joined by first runner-up Lindsey Boyer (L), 19, daughter of Kevin and Ruth Boyer, Bourbon; and second runner-up Amber Fry, 18, Muncie. Fry is the daughter of David and Sherri Fry.
