Posted

A 'Prom Docu-Drama' was conducted Thursday at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. Students from Warsaw, Wawasee and Tippecanoe Valley high schools were bused to the grandstand at the fairgrounds where a mock accident scene was staged. The event lasted approximately an hour. It involved a two-car crash with several injuries and a fatality. The accident was caused by a drunk driver on prom night. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the danger of drunk driving among prom-aged students. The event is conducted once every two years and is sponsored by Emergency Medical Service crews from Warsaw, Pierceton, North Webster, Syracuse and Plain Township. Also included are firemen from Warsaw and North Webster and police from state, county, Syracuse, North Webster, Milford, Warsaw and Winona Lake departments. Photos by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
